what do you think "the whole world is a play house means? What does it mean to you?
In the time that Shakespeare was alive, theater wasn't very accepted. Many play houses and theaters had to be constructed outside of the city walls, because the church (which was basically in control of the country) didn't want theater within the city. Many playwrights and actors didn't like this decision, so they set up plays wherever they wanted. What it means to me is that the influence of theater has grown beyond the influence in the time Shakespeare lived.
do you enjoy comedies, tragedies, or histories more? why?
I enjoy history more than tragedies and comedies because I am interested in history. I also think tragedies are too sad and some of the comedy used in plays is too old to be understood sometimes.
WHAT INTRIGUES YOU ABOUT SHAKESPEAREAN THEATER?
What intrigues me about Shakespearean theater is how many words were invented during his lifetime as a playwright. Many words used in everyday conversations originated from Shakespeare and his time. He also uncovered many words that were unknown to most people, and put them into mainstream use today.
