I think my best piece this semester was our tea station for Robin's project. Our project in Robin's class was about group work, the logistics and dynamics of group work, and good and bad examples of group work. For art, we took this group work idea to create a large art piece that could be displayed around the school. Robin really loves tea, and he set up a makeshift tea station in his class for us to use. We decided as a going away gift for him, we would create a permanent tea station to be displayed in Ms. Mack's room. Our tea station features countries where tea originates from, such as China, India, Japan, and the UK, as well as different ingredients that can be included in tea, such as peppermint and cocoa. On top of the cabinet is where the tea bags and kettle would be stored, and the mugs would be stored in the two drawers; one for personal cups and one for class cups.
Another art piece I really enjoyed making this semester was the half-face portrait. I drew Bernie Sanders because he is my favourite politician. The art piece itself seems quite simple, but the work behind creating a symmetrical and feature-similar face was actually a lot of work.
Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of this art piece, but I have a photo of the inspiration book cover. Our childhood book piece was the art piece that I think I put the most time into. I drew the cover to Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, and it was very detailed. I spent about a week planning and creating my art piece. I originally wanted to completely freehand the cover, but after one attempt I decided it would be better to trace a faint outline and freehand
