In this project we had roles. The roles were documenter, geogebra guru, skeptic, and spokesperson. My role for the client engagement was geogebra guru who puts the values that the documenter finds into geogebra to find a feasible region. To get the best possible recommendation you should first examine the vertices of the feasible region, and then test the vertex closest to the origin. You can then examine your constraints to see which vertex meets all of the constraints. If none do, you can test around the one that met the most constraints.
The problem we solved involved music, and the record company could only make so much of each album and was on a budget. We found constraints for the problem and I inputted them into geogebra. We found that 4.07 of each album was the most efficient to make (point B). I know our recommendation is the best because it is the closest vertex to the origin.
In our group Preston was our spokesperson, Melina was our documentor, I was the geogebra guru, and Natalie was the facilitator. Preston talked to the client about what we were figuring out, melina wrote everything down, I inputted the values into the computer, and Natalie watched over us.
I think that Preston did very well on interpreting what we were saying and put it in simpler terms for the client to understand. Melina did an excellent job of finding constraints to create the feasible region. I think I did a very good job of finding recommended points and graphing the points, and I think Natalie did a good job of leading us through it all. Our group worked together very well considering such little time we had to prepare. We found the most efficient point very quickly and I thought we did that very well. The contribution to that success was our determination to stay on task and show the client what we could really do. One challenge is a lot of the time Preston wouldn't understand what I was saying so I would end up talking to the client myself. We overcame that challenge by explaining what we were saying to preston and him interpreting it his own way. My biggest strength in my role was that I had a lot of background knowledge on Geogebra so I could input things fast. I could put in both the inequalities and regular equations next time so I don't have to keep checking with the documentor.
